The Focus:LAC programme may be broadly categorized as under:
(i) Institutional mechanism.
(ii) Improved market access.
(iii) Physical and economic infrastructure facilities.
A series of meetings with CII, FICCI, EPCs and other trade bodies have been held with a view to organizing seminars, securing participation in fairs, holding catalogue shows/BSMs and sending/inviting delegations. Similarly, meetings have been held in the sectors of shipping and civil aviation to initiate measures to improve the transport links. Discussions have also been held with RBI/Commercial banks, Exim Bank, ECGC for effecting improvements in the financial and banking sectors.
